- Design and creation of the Dudley Pledge We held an event with lyric/rap writers, poets, artists at the Black Country museum with corporate parents working together to decide the important issues whilst in care and leaving care in Dudley. The first members of the Children in Care Council joined.
- We designed and created a logo and decided our group name M.A.D - Make A Difference - and purchased hoodie tops to create a group identity.
- We were involved in promoting the Dudley Options+ Card for looked after children offering free and discounted leisure services across the borough.
- We have organised and led an event to launch the Pledge in 2012 to spread the word on the commitment the Council have made.
- We worked with the Health Team to share our ideas on the design and content of the Health Assessment Leaflet
- We organised the M.A.D. Consultation Event for all Looked after Young People in January 2013
- We travelled to regional events to share ideas with other Children in Care Councils including meeting the Children’s Commissioner.
- We have had training in how to be a professional and advocate effectively 2014.
- We have designed and developed Newsletters and leaflets to let everyone know what’s going on in Dudley.
- We have worked with the education department and contributed to Education4Me – the NEW LACES website
- Worked with the Children’s Society to help construct and promote the ‘Wellbeing’ questionnaire sent to all looked after children
- Successfully applied for funding of £750 for a looked after children and care leavers Celebration and Talent event from The Children’s Society ‘Pot of Gold’
- Organised and held the M.A.D. Celebration Event in January 2015
- Worked with other Children in Care Councils and visited events at the ‘Over the Rainbow’ event in March 2015 at Warwick Airfield to celebrate and share how we had spent the funding
- Worked very hard at creating this website!!
- Developed Leaflets promoting the Pledge and the CICC
- Identified ‘Contact’ as being a recurring issue for young people. We designed a questionnaire to see if it’s an issue for lots of young people. We have visited two residential homes so far to ask the views of young people

- To celebrate our hard work we visited West Midlands Safari Park
